Our Favourite Natural Treatments For Eczema
Eczema is a tricky one because there can be so many different triggers including environmental, diet and lifestyle. But we’ve suggested a range of ideas that tackle both the environmental and dietary that could potentially help.
Keep It Clean
Ensuring your house is dust free by vacuuming regularly, including your mattress and using air purifiers.
Look Into Allergies
If you haven’t already done so investigate if you do have a food or environmental allergy. You can do this via a lab test for food, mould, dust and inhalant. See your GP for further details.
By using a probiotic to ensuring you have a healthy gut can help reduce eczema.
Studies have shown 1000- 3000mg of vitamin C daily significantly improved eczema and immune function.
Increasing fish oil consumption for essential fatty acids, either with a supplement or increasing your intake of fish such as salmon and sardines can assist.
This spice has many health benefits. You can use it in cooking or take as a supplement form. It’s a traditional Ayurvedic natural remedy has anti-inflammatory properties which make it ideal for eczema.
Quercetin is a naturally occurring bioflavonoid to use to treat inflammation and control allergies.
Check For Candida Infections
Dr Lipski mentions a study carried out on 115 men and men and women with eczema, 85 were sensitive to fungus. When treated with fungal cream, an oral treatment or a yeast-free-diet there was a significant improvement in eczema.
This is probably one of the most obvious but also the hardest things to do. Don’t itch! It becomes a vicious circle. The itching makes you scratch but this makes the skin more inflamed and itchier.
Stay away from hot showers, saunas, spas and overheating at night. Try to stay cool if you want the inflammation to reduce. Studies have shown that exercise is still very beneficial for eczema suffers as it helps the body to build resilience for stress.
